The US. Change My Life.

I used to live in Neiva a small city of Colombia. It is a really nice place with hot weather, sunny days, cold wind, and clean air. My life was really happy back there, no worries no bills, and no English only Spanish. But my life did a really big turn when I had to come to the United States for reasons that I really do not want to remember. It was November and the weather was very cold and horrible. I remember I had to walk to the bus station at seven in the morning, it was less than a mile but for me it was like ten miles. The air here is not like Colombia here it feels more polluted some time it is hard to breathe. After three or four months I had to get my first car. It was a happiness that did not last long because the payments started to arrive so I had to get a job, and the worries started to appear too. Another big obstacle that I found was the language, for me was really hard to find friends at the beginning, and it made me sad for long time too. I have to say that my first three month in the US were really hard for me, but after all I think is the best decision that my parents have took for me and my future.

Shakira And Juanes Two Colombians To Show.

I know that my country Colombia have big problems with drugs and our guerrillas. However we also have very good things too. I want to talk about two really good personalities that have been working hard for good purposes leaving the name of my country high. Shakira is a singer from Barranquilla, one of the biggest cities in Colombia. She is really famous person here in the U.S. Shakira has a big organization in Colombia called “Pies Descalzos” in English “barefoot” this organization give shoes to all poor children in Colombia. She directs big part of her money to this organization every year. She also has another organization called Christmas for all. This organization takes gifts to poor families in Colombia on every Christmas. The second person that I want to talk about is Juan Estevan Aristizabal. Better know as Juanes. This guy is a warrior of peace. He has been fighting to fix the frontier problems of Colombia with Venzuela. He also fights for the relation of USA with Cuba. These are small examples but his name is always present when big peace events happen. I know these two stars are not enough to show the good things of my country but at least I am showing the good spirit of part of my people.

Summer Days...The Best Days To Go Swiming

The summer days of Atlanta are amongst the most appropriate days to go swimming. With this heat scorching down on the city it is only logical to go to the pool and cool down after a long day at work. The sparkling water, the cool breeze, the small children snickering about, and the volleyball players are all part of the pool experience, but the experience in itself is not complete until you add friends, music, food, and drink. It is something about the sum of the parts being greater than the whole that makes going to the pool a favorite pastime from city to city, from culture to culture.
Lately, going to the pool has been a ritual for my friends and I. We meet after work, gather some food and drinks, and head to the nearest pool available to us. It is very curious how it is easy for us to stay in the pool for hours on end. Never mind highly chlorinated water, or “pruney” fingers, we always stay in the pool for hours, and lately, until the pool closes or when the guards kick us out, whichever happens first.
I sincerely hope that we can continue this for as long as the summer days are in; in the mean time, I will jump in the pool for a little while before finishing this post.

My Trip To Helen

Today I went to Helen GA with my family. It is a little town located on the north side of GA just two hours from Atlanta. We spend more than six hours there doing a lot of stuff. First we went to eat funnel cakes at Granny Cakes they have all kind of flavors for customers and the desserts are delicious. It is really interesting because they make the funnel cakes just in front of you, and I was paying attention to the process the whole time. Then we went to a special photo studio. It is special because they use old cowboy customs on to the customers and they make the picture look very old, so it looks like the photo was taken years ago. Finally we went to a lazy river and we went tubing on it. The price is very cheap; we paid five dollars for each of us. It was really fun and the sound of the river is very relaxing. Helen is a really nice place to go if you do not want to drive a lot and if you are looking for a plan that will bring your family together, and help your wallet.

Athens, the place for a good time.

Athens, Geogia is most commonly known as the home of the Georgia bulldogs; the mascot for The University of Georgia. The university’s football team brings quite the popularity to the small town along with a good number of fans that go to Athens for the entertainment of the games and of course, the tailgating. However football and tailgating is not all this small town has to offer. Being primarily a college town, Athens is filled with all sorts of entertainment to please everyone. Downtown Athens is filled with a great variety of restaurants, from small hole in the wall to fine dinning places, offering whatever you’re craving or might be in the mood for. It also offers a vast selection of night life entertainment. Downtown Athens is full with bars for all ages starting at 18 and up, offering all kinds of different fun for the public. In some bars you might find live music concerts, while in others just a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy a drink and meet people. Along with football, dinning and night life Athens also has educational events that they put forward during the year. For example, in the spring Athens has what is called the International festival where the streets of downtown Athens are closed and one can spend the day walking around learning about different ethnicities and cultures. Each country has their own activity or craft to provide for the public. They also offer live music and free food, so one can experience a lil bit of what those are like around the world. Athens is a great place to just gather up some friends and have a great time enjoying all this small town has to offer.

Is The Phone Just A Calling Device?

A cell phone used to be a tool to communicate a short messages with important things like, accidents, work meetings, or just to check the well being of a family member. Now days It is use for many things far from just calls. Companies who manufacture cell phones are having a huge competitions between them. These companies are not just worry about the signal of the device any more like it used to be. Instead they are adding more and more features to these devices every day. Things like, cameras, GPS systems , mirrors, and televisions are being installed into the cell phones just to make the customers more interested in them. For example, I do have a phone made by Motorola called Android. This phone is amazing, it comes with too many features like touch screen, dual cam, a full keyboard, voice recognition, and many other things that makes me feel almost addicted to it. Another fantastic phone is the Iphone made by MAC and distributed by ATT&T. This phone was the first phone with touch screen, and one of the best features of this phone is that you can have more than 30000 application installed to it. I think that phones now are really necessary for every day use and with responsible use it can be really helpful for everybody.

Places Where You Should Go

In the past 5 years I have had the opportunities to go to a lot of places, meet new people and walk for many beaches. The best trip that I have took was the one to Alaska it is beautiful there and the air is pure and clean allover the place. I went to see the glaciers and it produce the most beautiful sound when a big peace of ice get in to the water, it is called an ice thunder because make the same sound that a thunder but in the water. I also have been in Europe, France, Switzerland, London and, Italy. And the most beautiful place for me was Switzerland, they have these views of large green spaces, and the people are very friendly and the small towns are very pretty. I also have been in Uruguay, Argentina and Brazil. Each of these countries has something special; Uruguay has one of the most beautiful beaches in the world called Punta Del Este. This beach is visited for a lot of people for Europe each year. Argentina has the most delicious steak that I have ever taste in my life. And Brazil please pay attention to this. I know that Colombia has very beautiful woman, but Brazil is the Capital of the world in pretty girls plus they are very very nice. This is a very small show of places that I can think now but I am sure there is much more to see and much more to know.

The Bad Economy Does Not Stop The Money Transfers.

I work for one of the biggest companies in the money transfers services and every day I get amazed because the people of central and south America still sending a lot of money to their families. This people are being persuit by the laws more and more every day and the job opportunities are getting small every day. The numbers that my company is receiving are showing something really different that the television and radio are telling about the economy. Just in May the transactions showed the highest numbers in the whole year because they were sending money to their mother in Mother’s day. I talk with the customers every day, and I ask them why and how they find the ways to send money. He said because they came here, just to work hard and give a better live to their families. It is incredible how the people with out documents are abuse but they do not say anything just to keep their jobs. Most of this people live with really low monthly expenses just to save all the money that they can. When they have enough money they send this money to their countries. There they open small business or buy houses to rent, and when they get tired of US they go to their origins and live the better live that they never could fine here.
